Common Testing Reasons

Employers use goMDnow to support practical drug and alcohol testing workflows across the employee lifecycle. Testing reason, panel type, and DOT/non-DOT status should match your company policy and regulatory requirements.

Pre-employment testingScreen candidates before start date or assignment.
Random testingSupport ongoing safety-sensitive workforce programs.
Post-accident testingDocument testing after eligible workplace or vehicle incidents.
Reasonable suspicionSupport supervisor-directed testing when impairment concerns arise.

Consortium Membership for Discounted Testing Rates

Companies outside transportation can still join goMDnow as a consortium member to receive discounted member pricing on commonly ordered drug and alcohol tests. Membership is especially helpful for employers that order pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, or periodic testing throughout the year.

Important: Joining as a member for discounted testing rates is different from being placed in a DOT random testing pool. DOT random pool enrollment is used when applicable for DOT-regulated employers and CDL drivers. Non-DOT employers can use membership for lower testing rates without needing DOT random pool enrollment unless a regulated program applies.

Urine drug testingMember pricing starts at $69.95.
Breath alcohol testingMember pricing starts at $80.00.
Hair drug testingMember pricing starts at and varies by panel.
$99.00/year membershipSimple annual membership with discounted testing rates.

Who We Serve in Transportation

goMDnow supports transportation companies of many sizes, including single-driver owner-operators, new DOT authority holders, small fleets, private carriers, for-hire motor carriers, last-mile delivery fleets with DOT-regulated vehicles, and employers managing CDL safety-sensitive drivers.

Transportation employers often need more than a one-time drug test. They need a complete compliance workflow that includes random pool enrollment, testing notifications, MRO-reviewed results, documentation, and support when a driver enters the FMCSA Clearinghouse process.

  • Owner-operators needing a third-party consortium
  • Small fleets needing random testing administration
  • Employers hiring CDL drivers
  • Drivers needing RTD Step 5 or Step 6 follow-up testing
  • Companies preparing for DOT audits or compliance reviews

Why Transportation Companies Use goMDnow

Transportation companies need fast ordering, clear pricing, nationwide availability, and a team that understands FMCSA rules. goMDnow is designed to reduce confusion for drivers and fleet owners while keeping compliance documentation organized.

  • Online ordering and enrollment
  • Transparent pricing
  • Support for owner-operators and fleets
  • DOT and non-DOT options
  • Compliance-focused customer support

DOT Consortium for Owner-Operators

Owner-operators cannot run their own random testing program. FMCSA-regulated owner-operators must participate in a consortium administered by a qualified third party. goMDnow provides annual consortium membership, random pool management, compliance certificate, driver additions, and online support.

Drug and alcohol tests are ordered separately when needed, which keeps the annual membership simple and affordable.

Return-to-Duty and Follow-Up Testing

Drivers with a violation in the FMCSA Clearinghouse may need to complete the SAP process, take an observed Return-to-Duty test, and then complete follow-up testing according to the SAP plan. goMDnow provides RTD Step 5 ordering and Step 6 follow-up testing support for eligible drivers and employers.
