Drivers who have a DOT-regulated violation, employers or owner-operators needing observed RTD testing and follow-up enrollment, and third parties authorized to arrange RTD testing may sign up. If you are unsure, contact support for eligibility guidance.

What information do I need to complete the RTD signup?

Typically you will need the driver's full name, date of birth, contact info, employer or company (if applicable), driver ID or DOT number, details of the violation/test, and payment method. If you have a SAP completion letter, upload or indicate it during signup.

Can I request an expedited observed RTD test?

Yes—expedited scheduling is available in many areas depending on site availability. Choose the expedited option during signup or call customer service to request prioritization; additional fees may apply.

Do I need employer authorization to sign up for RTD?

Employer authorization speeds clearinghouse reporting and follow-up administration, but owner-operators or authorized representatives can sign up with proper identification and payment. Certain Clearinghouse actions may require employer credentials or explicit authorization.

How will I receive confirmation and instructions after signing up?

You will receive an email confirmation with appointment details, collection site instructions (including observed collection requirements), directions for specimen collection, and a checklist of documents to bring. SMS notifications are available if you opt in.

What happens if my observed RTD specimen is positive?

A confirmed positive RTD test means the driver cannot return to safety-sensitive duties. The driver will need to follow SAP recommendations and may repeat the RTD process after completing required treatment/education and SAP re-evaluation.

How do you handle Clearinghouse reporting for RTD signups?

goMDnow will report required entries to the FMCSA Clearinghouse (e.g., positive result, RTD completion) when authorized. During signup you can specify employer/TPA roles so reports are filed correctly.

Can I enroll in follow-up testing when I sign up for RTD?

Yes—signup can include enrollment in a follow-up testing plan per SAP direction. We can set up and schedule the minimum recommended tests and manage the calendar of unannounced collections.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy for RTD appointments?

Cancellation and rescheduling policies vary by appointment type and timing. Contact support immediately to reschedule; fees may apply for late cancellations or no-shows. Detailed policy is provided at checkout and in the confirmation email.

This letter establishes an agreement between [_______________________] (“Employer”) and goMDnow (“Service Provider”) for the administration of Step 5 and Step 6 i.e., Return-to-Duty (RTD) drug testing and Follow-Up drug testing in compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, 49 CFR Part 40 after a drug test violation.

1. Scope of Services

1.1 Return-to-Duty (RTD) Testing

The Service Provider agrees to conduct RTD testing as required under 49 CFR § 40.305 for drivers who have completed Steps 1-4, i.e., Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluation and treatment process.
RTD testing must be conducted using direct observation collection procedures, as outlined in 49 CFR § 40.67, ensuring integrity and accuracy.
Testing shall be performed at a SAMHSA-certified laboratory, and MRO reviewed results will be provided to the Employer securely and confidentially.

1.2 Follow-Up Testing

The Service Provider shall conduct Step 6 Follow-Up drug testing for drivers under the Follow-Up Testing Plan established by the SAP, per 49 CFR § 40.307, after the driver tests negative for the RTD Drug Test.
Follow-up testing shall occur unannounced at a frequency determined by the SAP throughout one to five years, as required.
The Service Provider will ensure that Steps 5 and 6 of the DOT drug testing process (49 CFR §§ 40.73 and 40.97) are strictly followed, guaranteeing accurate specimen analysis and reporting.

2. Compliance & Confidentiality

The Service Provider shall ensure compliance with 49 CFR § 40.199, maintaining proper recordkeeping and confidentiality of test results and reporting it to the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
The Employer and Service Provider shall adhere to 49 CFR § 40.321 to protect the privacy of employees and ensure secure transmission of drug test results.
All drug testing shall be conducted using certified laboratories and qualified personnel, as required under federal regulations.

3. Terms & Conditions

Compensation: The driver agrees and is responsible for the cost of all drug tests and the enrollment fee.
Termination Clause: This agreement will be terminated upon receiving a positive drug test result or refusal of the DOT Drug test.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration per applicable DOT regulations.

By signing below, I authorize goMDnow as an independent CTPA to conduct RTD and follow-up drug testing, report results to the FMCSA Clearinghouse, and coordinate with the SAP for the testing plan. I also authorize my driver to independently engage goMDnow for all DOT-required testing.

goMDnow RTD program operates in strict compliance with the U.S. Department of Transportation's regulations for workplace drug and alcohol testing programs (49 CFR Part 40). This regulation sets forth specific standards for specimen collection, laboratory testing, medical review officer (MRO) processes, and recordkeeping. By becoming a member of our RTD services, driver’s return to duty and follow up drug testing program will be in line with federal regulations. Follow-up testing may only be conducted after the driver/operator has been officially notified. Any test completed independently, without such notification, will not be considered valid.

Under any circumstances goMDnow will not be able to provide information regarding Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) report.

The main purpose of the DOT RTD process is to put truck drivers back on the road who have tested positive for drug or alcohol prohibition, or who have refused a mandatory drug and/or alcohol test.

By using our online return to duty process services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

Driver must complete SAP-recommended instructive or treatment program.
goMDnow RTD services manage return to duty testing program. SAP evaluations exclusively focus on treatment and education.
You understand that our fees are separate from the fees charged by the SAP. You also understand that our fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
goMDnow will require Initial and Confirmation SAP Evaluation with Follow up Testing plan report from SAP professional
goMDnow will not provide any information given on SAP report. For any questions and concerns about SAP report please reach out to your SAP professional.
Under any circumstances goMDnow will not disclose amount of follows-ups needed to be complete.
You must follow testing plan under any circumstances (e.g Travelling, Vacation etc)
Failed to comply with any goMDnow testing plan, user will be withdrawn from the RTD program and will be reported to clearing-house as “Refuse to Drug Test”
User must be provide Negative “Return to Duty” result before starting random follow up testing plan.
If you successfully pass your return-to-duty test, you will be eligible to resume your safety-sensitive duties, subject to your employer's discretion. However, you will still be required to undergo follow-up testing for a period of time determined by the SAP.
You understand that all return to duty and follow up tests must be conducted under direct observation by a trained collector, as per CFR Part 40 Section 40.67
If you want to switch to another company while doing the return to duty program, you need to provide your written consent and the a request from the new company.
Once your RTD program is successfully handover to new company, goMDnow will close your account and will no longer responsible for your testing program.
